Construction for 150 million: a workshop for the production of meat and bone meal was opened.
The Volodymyr-Volyn Poultry Factory opened a workshop for the production of meat and bone meal. It is part of the construction project of a new processing complex, which the company started in 2019.
The official opening took place on October 21. The complex is located on the territory of the Ovadniv territorial community, near the village of Hayky.
“This is a very important project for our company. We plan to invest about one and a half billion hryvnias and complete construction in the first quarter of 2023. This will give us the opportunity to increase our production capacity… Increase our environmental safety, which is very important. Also, we will be able to create about half a thousand new jobs at this processing complex,” said the shareholder of the enterprise Dmytro Dobkin
In 2020, the poultry farm invested more than 120 million hryvnias and commissioned the first stage of construction. This year’s investment in construction is more than 150 million.
“Today we are launching a workshop for the production of meat and bone meal – this is a rather important and new direction of work for the company. It will allow us to process leftovers from production and, accordingly, sell them in the future as raw materials for enterprises that manufacture animal feed,” said director of the poultry farm Svitlana Sobipan.
The construction of a modern processing complex follows European standards. It is fully equipped with modern equipment from global manufacturers and a reliable eco-safety system through the secondary processing of industrial waste and the presence of treatment facilities.
“We bought equipment for the workshop in the Netherlands, Italy, Turkey and the United States of America. Its production capacity is 11 tons per day. The cost of the equipment is about 50 million hryvnias. The cost of this complex is 130 million hryvnias. The shop, first of all, will process the remains of its own production. It will reach the full volume after we launch the entire complex,” said the head of the construction project. Dmytro Gedz.
Bohdan Lozynskyi, the head of the State Production and Consumer Service in the region, who was present at the opening, noted that similar workshops can become a solution to the problem of disposal of production residues for Ukrainian industry.
“As we see now at this production: modern European equipment, a modern enterprise. Accordingly, control of emissions into the atmosphere, comfortable conditions for employees who will work. This option, in my opinion, is one of the best that can be today,” said Bohdan Lozynskyi, head of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Volyn region.
A new processing complex is being built near the village of Hayky, in the Ovadniv community. By the way, during the first stage of decentralization, the community fought for the annexation of this particular settlement, because they understood that serious taxpayers were needed for self-sufficient functioning.
“We knew it would open and we’re already looking forward to it being fully operational. We know that these are also jobs. Today, when business is fighting for the market, people are fighting for jobs. Residents of the community need jobs, they need to feed their families. We hope that there will be several hundred additional jobs here, we hope for several additional millions of income to our community,” said the head of the Ovadniv community. Serhiy Panasevich.
At the same time, the Volodymyr-Volyn Poultry Farm is a large taxpayer not only in this community, but in the region and the country as a whole: since the beginning of 2021, as of September, the company has paid almost 170 million in taxes to budgets of various levels.
“We hope that it will be a waste-free production. One of the queues that appears today – meat and bone meal will give the poultry factory the opportunity to process its waste and give the final product – meat and bone meal… We hope that this is a good thing for our region and for the whole of Ukraine, since the poultry factory – the fourth in terms of the number of poultry that is grown here in Ukraine”, – said the director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Volyn Regional State Administration Yury Horbenko.
Currently, the enterprise employs more than one and a half thousand employees. With the launch of the processing complex, hundreds of additional jobs are expected to be created.
At the Volodymyr-Volyn Poultry Factory, they told how 2021 passed for the enterprise, what crisis situations they faced, how they sought solutions and fulfilled obligations to the state.
